We took a day out to join a trekking group and it was amazing, I had no idea what the countryside around Dubai was like, even though i'm a regular visitor. Hard work, and hot, but such fun.

I was lucky enough to be taken for a trek in this jungle as part of a business trip and was astonished to learn that there are still people living a nomadic life deep in the forest. Stunningly beautiful place, what a wonderful experience.

It's a fairly long trip to the north, not sure exactly how long

You may not think of Hong Kong as a city for trekking but we decided to follow this popular trek that featured in our guide book and it did not disappoint. Lugard Road lookout is a particular highlight with its views over Victoria Harbour and bring you back to the Peak Tower.

These cute creatures are a bit tougher on the backside than people would have you believe but once you're on and out in the desert you can just enjoy the experience for the most part!
