Lovely place to go for a wander, especially if you've hit upon a bad day's weather or you fancy a break. The Museum contains an unbelievable array of artefacts. The castle itself is gorgeous and if you can pop back in the night time to see the great views then too.

A climb up the stairs is vastly rewarded, with the magnificent Piazza del Campodoglio surrounded by no less than three palaces, one of which houses the Capitoline Museum which is great. Paths off the square have fantastic views.

There's a restaurant on the 27th floor of the Burj al Arab - this is really the 54th storey as each floor represents two storeys of suites. THere are some amazing 360 degrees views out over the town and the coastline and you get a great view of some of the weird and fantastically expensive engineering projects underway in Dubai.

A really interesting and informative ferry trip with beautiful views across Edinburgh and beyond, as well as a lot of wildlife you don't see elsewhere.

At first glance a rather bleak place but there's so much to see here, starting with the 3200 year old Egyptian obelisk. And I love looking at all the statues of the french cities around the outside too! Great views all round, particularly up to the Arc de Triomphe.
