Mount Lycabettus

Staying in a hostel I went back after going here and was astonished that nobody else there had been up here! You don't even have to climb, there's a train-like thing that takes you! The view from the top is great and there's a nice cafe for a refreshment or two. I'd love to see a band at the amphitheatre but sadly that wasn't possible.

It's the big hill in the middle of the city...not hard to find!

Menara KL Tower

I knew I wanted to go here before I touched down, it's one of the iconic buildings in KL. The views are, as you would expect, just brilliant, althoguh i don't think i could stomach food at such a height even though there's plenty on offer up there!

St George's Castle

Perched high above the city i'd seen this on my previous trip and wanted to go. And it was definitely worth the wait. Such relaxing surroundings, with peacocks wandering by in the gardens, the views from the ramparts is totally amazing.

Bus 37, i guess you *could* walk though if you really wanted to!

Guess what you can see from church point? SCOTLAND! Ok so it's not attached to the UK but it is very pretty. This is a great place to go for a lazy lunch, great food and views what more could you want?

Mrs Maquarie's Chair

posted by khunter on 11 November 2010 at 14:28

The name conjurs up a museum with just one chair but really it's a bench hewn out of a large bit of sandstone and the views from it are spectacular! I couldn't believe it was free to sit there (although others do also want to have a go if y'know you stay there for hours) and i made sure to come back on my last day.

where, when, how, web
stop 5 on the explorer bus, or an ok walk from circular quay round past the botanic gardens
