Amazing place, the ruins here are pretty astonishing! No fewer than 5 temples as well as some of the city walls are all waiting to be explored, and the kids had such fun here too dashing about and playing games.

I can't really imagine what it was like to live in a time when cities were walled in for protection, but you can see the might that was needed to invade whan you stand at the huge Hadrian's gate and see the walls! Great to get some history of the place rather than just sunbathe and party (plenty of that too though!!).

Lovely palace, surrounded by the Roman walls and built overlooking the now non-existent forum. Really connects you to the history of Faro. The cathedral and the convent are also nearby, making a nice day of sights with little effort.

I love finding out about the history of a place when on holiday and the city walls were really good. known as the medina of marrakech they were built around 1070. They are beautiful, changing colour throughout the day, especially at sunset.
