Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World

This is a really fantastic aquarium and sea creature world. The highlight must be the penguin world which you ride through in a little snow mobile. There's also an underwater tunnel which you can walk through and see sharks, squids, piranhas, sea horses and other wonderful sea creatures swimming around you.

National Zoological Park

Certainly the best kept zoo I have ever been to. Possibly a strange choice while visiting a city with so much history and culture to see but I just fancied a break from the maddness of the city and the zoo was a great choice for some respite.

Spit Point to Manly walk

This is a lovely scenic walk. It's about 9km and takes about 4 hours. Get a bus over Sydney Harbour Bridge to Spit Point and set off from there. You'll see some lovely ocean views, as well as the possibility of glimpsing some wildlife - lizards, small (and harmless) snakes and some aboriginal rock carvings. Manly is a lovely little secluded fishing village where you can have a little rest for a bit before getting on the ferry to Darling Harbour.

Everglades

Considering that the everglades feel like some sort of primordial swamp, the fact that their only about an hour's drive from Miami is quite surreal. You have to visit if you're in Miami, you get to ride on this bizarre hovercraft vessel in hunt of alligators and other wildlife. You might even get the chance to hold one of the baby alligators which look deeply evil but very cute at the same time.
