What a wonderful insight into the Queen's private thoughts as displayed by the way she chose to live on board this vessel. Take the audio tour, it's fascinating and well worth the extra time it takes to get round.

The waters around Bodrum are stunning, crystal clear and lovely and warm. A few friends got chatting to a local and he recommended the blue voyage. It was lovely, sooooo relaxing, and nice to see other parts of the country too.

Bodrum can feel quite crowded and touristy during the middle of summer and you might find it worth hiring a yacht. You can share with other people if you're group isn't big enough. Yachts go up to about 50m in length. You'll get a week full board round the Gulf of Gokova for about 400 euros in midsummer. The trip is full board and the food is always delicious.

I have always been fascinated with the British Royal family, which is why when I was in Edinburgh, I took the time to tour the Royal Yacht Britannia. This lushly appointed yacht served the Windsor family for over 40 years before turning into a tourist attraction, and on the tour I saw everything from the Staterooms, to the Engine Room. It was fun to see how the other half lives.

This is the yacht that has been home to the Royal family for decades. It has been a place for the queen to rest & reside and for honeymooners. It was a fun way to get a glimpse into their lives and we loved the tour and time on this beautiful yacht.
