The Grange Hotel turned out to be a good recommendation by my friend, for hotels in York. I did stay there for a day but I liked everything about the hotel. The room was fantastic with a clean bathroom and decent furniture. The staff is some of the nicest and hard working people that I have met. The management was excellent and met my requirements and requests. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice in food to choose from. The location of the hotel was very convenient as it is very close to the minister and the city center.

For a family friendly pseudo scary evening in York, try the Ghost Hunt of York. This inexpensive walking tour (only five pounds) is a great way to spend a few hours, and maybe get a few chills by seeing the city’s most haunted sights. In addition to the supernatural, it was a great way to learn about the city as a whole.

I was really able to learn about the history of the city of York when I visited the York Castle Museum. They had various walk through exhibits with period actors demonstrating how life in York has evolved over the years. It really helped make my kids grateful for what we have.

Seafood predominant. Very expensive. Incredibly romantic atmosphere. Highly recommend a marriage proposal to your better half in a setting such as this. Wait staff was wonderful, bathrooms were abnormally dirty. Have fun at this elegant venue. Try the rum-carrot cake.

The Queens hotel provided for fantastic staff, a great location and good food. My room was kept clean before I checked in and had a fantastic view, with the river right in front of me. The beds in the room were so comfortable and the hotel was nice and quite, which provided for good sleep at night. Internet access was simply great. Best 2 days that I spent in York.
