Wow, what an impressive building! So much to see, we were glad we'd bought a great guide book that told us so many details and things to look out for, but we also saw some people on a guided tour which might also be a good way to dig a little deeper.

Stunning architecture and opulent decor, plus an informative museum on clothing. I loved it here, just walking around imagining what it would have been like to live here years ago.

A-MAZING. This most definitely is a palace, what a swish building! And so much inside it, you feel like it's a living museum. Highlight of all of Venice in my book.

I'm sure eveyone's come here to say it's amazing, but it actually is. A phenomenal building, pure opulence, the rooms keep coming, and I love the english translations of the names too...Hall of the Inquisitors, Chamber of Torment. I'd advise spending as much of the day here as possible to really appreciate it.

One of the most famous attractions in Venice is Doge's Place located in St. Mark's Square. The seat of the Venetian government is now one of the most impressive places to visit in Venice and is an absolute must stop for any tourist. It offers not only an amazing tour in richly appointed and opulent architecture, but an impressive showcase in Venetian art from masters such as Tintoretto. One downside is that the line to get in can be very long, but I found before I went that if you buy your ticket at the Correr Museum across the square, which in itself is a good stop too, you can bypass the line and go straight in. Whether in Venice for a day or a week, you must visit the Doge's Palace.
