When to go to

Zante

Zante Weather

Zante experiences a typical Mediterranean climate with relatively wet winters and hot, dry summers. Summer temperatures reach into the mid to high twenties and there's little or no rainfall all summer long.

Zante's Tourist Season

Zante's tourist season corresponds fairly directly with the climate, with most people travelling in the June to September summer months. To pre-empt the summer crowds, you could opt to take your holiday in May when the temperature has started to pick up and chances of rain aren't that great.

Events in Zante

The biggest event in Zante is the Carnival which is held in February and involves dancing, parties, parades, costumes and theatrical displays. There are two festivals to celebrate Agios Dionysos - the patron saint of Zante. These take place in August and December and include feasting and dancing as well as some religious ceremonies. The Easter celebrations in Zakynthos are well worth witnessing and involve a mass procession with a crucifix through the heart of town followed by religious ceremonies.
