Well as usual we had a hard task to pick out a favourite deal from the 20 amazing offers we found this week, but the value you get on this seven-night break to The Gambia – which we found with The Gambia Experience – has got me tempted to book.
With this late availability deal you can delay the onset of winter by a week. The Gambia enjoys year round sunshine, and I think £299 per person is an amazing price to fly all that way (it’s a £255 per person saving).
The deal is for accommodation at the African Village Hotel including breakfast daily. Now, the hotel’s a two-star, so expect simplicity, charm and a warm welcome rather than state-of-the-art technology and polished marble luxury. And did I mention that it only costs £299 per person? The hotel is set on the coast, and whilst there are no beaches they’ve created plenty of sandy sun terraces and there’s a small swimming pool.

Gambians is known for their friendly and warm personalities, and we reckon this deal offers more of an authentic African experience. You’re staying in bustling Bakau town, and the surrounding area is known for it’s gorgeous beaches. Plus there are so many fascinating places to explore in Gambia; head to Kachikally Crocodile Pool (after years of human contact you can pet the crocs!) or see The Gambia’s rich wildlife with a trip to River Gambia National Park.

For a final reason to go (as if you needed one) consider the exchange rate. You can currently get about 46 Gambian Dalasis to a pound, the prices for beer, meals out etc are far lower than the UK.
You have three departure dates available at this price: 11th, 18th or 25th November 2011. Read our full write up here where we also tell you how to book with The Gambia Experience
