UK Campsites To Check Out For 2021 Staycations

With self-contained staycations possible within a matter of weeks, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite campsites around the UK, so pack up your tent, pile into the car, and let’s make some happy campers!

St Ives Bay, Hayle, Cornwall

If you’re heading to Cornwall, no doubt you’ll be in search of golden sands, fish and chips, and maybe a spot of surfing. St Ives Bay offers all of this and more! You’ll be located just outside of the town of Hayle, and moments from Gwithian Beach, one of the longest and best surfing beaches in the county. You may recognise the campsite from its namesake, St Ives, the pretty Cornish town that tourists flock to every year. The site overlooks the bay to lovely St Ives, which makes for a great day out when you’re all surfed up! Here, you can rent out a caravan or pitch up your own tent. There are excellent facilities including a surf school, onsite eateries and an indoor pool!

Ocknell Campsite, New Forest, Hampshire

If you are looking to get back to basics, then the New Forest is for you. At Ocknell Campsite, you can pitch up your tent, campervan or caravan and embrace nature at its best. The New Forest sits on the Solent — the stretch of water separating the Isle of Wight from England — so you’re never too far away from seaside vibes. Best of all, this campsite is home to free-roaming New Forest ponies and surrounded by the beautiful trees that make the forest so iconic.

Park Cliffe, The Lake District, Cumbria

Windermere is one of the most sought after staycation spots in the UK and at Park Cliffe, the area surrounding this fantastic lake will be at your mercy. Rolling hills cuddle the campsite into a cosy clearing in the valley. There are plenty of ways to stay, including pitching up your own tent or motorhome, and renting camping pods or static caravans! Walking is a popular way to spend the day for visitors to the Lake District and at this site you’ll be ideally placed to enjoy some of the best walks in the area!

There are plenty of ways to stay at this campsite too, including reserving a bell tent, a gypsy caravan or a yurt, or you could just plain old pitch up and camp! The Cotswolds Camping at Holycombe is situated in the grounds of Holycombe Holistic Retreat Centre, so its ethos is to provide a peaceful, rustic, outdoor experience.

Three Cliffs Bay, The Gower, Wales
