Fuerteventura is part of the Canary Islands just off the west coast of Africa and just like the rest of that group of islands it is a very popular destination for UK holiday makers seeking cheap flights and lots of sunshine. Fuerteventura is between a four and five hour flight from the UK depending on which city you fly from but it falls into a rare category of holiday destinations from the UK which have genuinely good weather all year round. There is a huge range of scheduled, charter and low cost flights that operate from cities such as London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Belfast and Manchester. The cost of your flight to Fuerteventura will depend greatly on which month you are travelling in.
With 152 beaches around its coastline, a good old fashioned beach holiday is why many people come to Fuerteventura. The main tourist areas are Morro Jable in the south, Caleta de Fustes in the middle and Corralejo in the north, while Costa de Antigua is a smaller, purpose-built resort. These are where the vast majority of visitors will stay. Outside of these areas most of the island remains unspoilt with a landscape punctuated by low rise villages, the real inland attraction is the Corralejo Natural Dunes Park where you can take in the view on camel back.
Aside from relaxing on the beach the other main reason why people are so keen to find a cheap flight to Fuerteventura is to take advantage of the constant breezes that blow across the island offering some of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions in the world. If you hire a car you will be able to have your pick of beaches too!
Whether you're planning a week lying horizontal on the beach or hooning across the waves with the wind in your hair don't pay any more for your Fuerteventura flights than you have to. Use our search to get a great deal and once you've booked your flights why not try us for cheap hotels in Fuerteventura too?

Since it's such a popular all inclusive holiday destination, getting a direct flight to the volcanic island won't be difficult. Direct charter as well as scheduled flights are available throughout the year from various UK airports including Glasgow and East Midlands.
It's much easier and quicker to fly direct to Fuerteventura, and with so many airlines offering direct routes, you'll not have trouble bagging yourself a bargain flight deal there. You can use our search tool to compare prices with countless airlines whichever month you wish to travel.

Some holidays to Fuerteventura offer free transfers or they can be added to your package, but other options are a bit limited. Taxis are reasonably priced and are a good option if you don't want to hire a car. The airport is on the island's bus network (Puerto Del Rosario -Caleta- Las Salinas) but the routes are very limited so it may take a while if your destination is quite far.
If you're planning on travelling between resorts then the bus network is very useful, with regular services and nice air conditioned vehicles. To explore the wilder interior Fuerteventura car hire is necessary but be aware that your car hire insurance may not cover incidents that happen on dirt roads. There are lots of tours on offer that take groups in jeeps or on quad bikes over the rugged landscape.
Ferries operate daily to Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife, with routes running from Punta del Rosario, Morro del Jable and Corralejo. For further onward travel you can also get a ferry to Spain as well as the other Canaries from these. Internal flights are also available.
Whenever you fly to Fuerteventura you're sure to have warm weather as the average temperature in the winter is about 22°C and upwards of 30°C at the height of the summer. There is little rainfall which is predominantly confined to the winter months and generally falls in the north. Trade winds cool the island most of the time but the occasional Calima (hot sandy air) raises the temperature and covers everything with a fine layer of sand.
There are two main seasons in Fuerteventura. December to March is the peak winter season as Europe takes advantage of the warm weather with Fuerteventura winter sun holidays so be sure to book early. February and March are especially busy as this is the carnival season when towns and villages across Fuerteventura throw parties, big and small. July to September sees sun worshippers flocking to the beaches on droves, and barely a room to be found in the hotels. Since the weather is so nice all year round it's easy to take advantage of the quieter times to get some cheap deals and a bit of elbow room on the beach!
€ Euros. The cheapest place to exchange money is at a bank, where the rates are generally more favourable than at Fuerteventura hotels or resorts. ATMs are also a great source of cash but beware of the hidden charges. To make your money go further, you can generally save by pre-booking transfers, tours or excursions - providing you know in advance what you want to do.
Spanish. Most people in Fuerteventura's tourist resorts and at attractions speak good English as well as some German and French. If you're travelling further afield a few words of Spanish are useful.
