Flying Between Birmingham and Italy

There are several direct UK flights that link Birmingham with Italy. You can fly direct to the picturesque northern city of Trieste, near the German border, with low-cost airline Ryanair in around two hours, while the same airline can have you walking the cobbles of the beautiful city of Milan in less than three hours.

You can also fly direct to the stunning cities of Venice and Rome with Monarch in two to three hours, so all corners of one of the world's most romantic countries is open to easy-access exploration.

Aside from these direct routes, you can also catch indirect services with airlines such as Lufthansa to Turin, Naples and Florence, which may fit your schedule better. To find the route that's right for you, consult our flight search tool.

Alternative Airports

If none of the Birmingham routes suit your journey, then you may consider taking one of the Ryanair services from nearby East Midlands. You can fly direct to Rome, Venice, Milan and Pisa from here, or, if you don't mind travelling down to London, you could fly direct to Florence, Bologna or Milan.

Getting Cheap Flights to Italy

Generally, the cheapest time to travel to Italy is around the Autumn months of October and November, as the temperatures are a few degrees cooler, and you avoid the midsummer holiday rush.

As a result, if you are flexible with your departure times and don't mind taking your Italian holiday around this time, then you can save yourself a packet. Just make sure that you plan your journey properly and book your flights as early as possible.
