Saving Money in Jordan

There are no direct UK flights to Jordan, and getting to your destination can be expensive and time consuming. The easiest way to limit the damage to your wallet is simply to book your flights, hotels, carhire and anything of that ilk as early as possible, as the prices will only creep up the longer you leave them. Many of the most interesting and spectacular sites in the country are completely free to visit, including the Dead Sea and many of the historical ruins around the country. But one of the most fun ways to save money is to avoid the more touristy restaurants and hotel eateries and hunt out the smaller, cheaper restaurants in the city centres. These will offer cheap, authentic Jordanian food and give you a great feel for the local culture

Top Attractions in Jordan

A great alternative to hotels in Jordan, and to really get an authentic taste of Jordanian culture, is to stay in a Bedouin camp in the Wadi Rum. Trekking through the desert on foot or by camel and sleeping in a tent under the stars, a stay with the Bedouin people is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Ajlun Castle in the northern region is also a fantastic site, giving you a fascinating insight into Jordanian history, while the capital, Amman, is a vibrant city full of markets, restaurants and museums.
