Quick Guide to Neapolitan Riviera

Sparkling blue seas, jaw-dropping views and cliff top towns are what you can expect from a holiday on the Neapolitan Riviera.

Located around the Bay of Naples – easily one of the most stunning spots in the Med – the Neapolitan Riviera has a magnificent array of sights to see. There's the colourful port of Naples with its mouth-watering Margherita pizzas, the archaeological wonder of Pompeii and the swanky town of Sorrento home to high-end boutiques and designer stores.

There's other gems to explore during a Neapolitan Riviera holiday too such as Mount Vesuvius, a sight that shouldn't be missed, and the elegant island of Capri home to turquoise waters, hidden caves and quaint (if not slightly steep) cobbled streets. And lest we forget the island's famed Caprese salad (tomatoes, mozzarella and basil) - a dish that'll really get your tastebuds tingling.

Best Time to go to Neapolitan Riviera

You'll find the summer months scorching during a Neapolitan Riviera holiday, with the thermometer easily hitting 28 degrees in July and August. For a comfier blast of warmth, May, June and September see the mercury hover around the mid 20s which makes site-seeing (especially in places like Pompeii which lacks shaded spots) slightly easier.

If you'd prefer a much cooler experience (and don't mind a bit of drizzle), take a flight to Italy in the winter to experience the Neapolitan Riviera. Temperatures will still be very pleasant, and rarely dip below 15 degrees. Plus you'll find accommodation and flight costs will be cheaper.
