Algiers is the capital of and the largest city in Algeria and one of the most important towns in North Africa. It's remarkable when seen from the sea, as the countless gleaming white buildings seem to rise up, crowned by the casbah at the top. There are cheap Algiers flights and car hire from Algiers Airport allows you to explore the fantastic culture, history and coastline of this area with ease.
There are plenty of cheap hotels in Algiers to choose from, including major chains in the city itself as well as a wide range of resorts along the coast, which are often all-inclusive allowing you to truly relax on your trip. Many of the cheap hotels in Algiers are located on one side of the bay, creating a tourist district complete with many attractions and locations for eating out. Overall, Algiers hotels offer plenty of choice whether you would prefer to be in the vibrant heart of the city or out in a resort along the coast.
As with many Mediterranean towns, the best time to visit Algiers is in the summer months when sun is practically guaranteed and the white buildings of the city look their best. A word of caution, however, in July and August it is especially hot and dry with temperatures reaching 35°C to 40°C on occasion. This can be a bit restrictive, so perhaps June or September are the better months in which to visit Algiers.
