The dealchecker New Years Travel Resolutions

Before it became an excuse to get completely trollied with fifty friends, a glitter ball and a magnum of champers, New Years Eve, in my family, used to be a time where we’d write down all our hopes and dreams for the coming year – knowing we’d fulfill nearly none of them, but enjoying the process nonetheless. With this in mind, I thought i’d ask my fellow dealcheckers what their travel resolutions are for 2011 – where they want to go, how often, and where they definitely won’t be going.

Alice – I want to go to Madagascar – for the beaches, and because I didn’t spend nearly enough time in Africa this year. And yes, it might be a little bit to do with the Pixar film…

Andrew – Do more of it….and visit Cambodia in the process.

Lara – I love cruises and I love fishing, so naturally I’m majorly into the idea an Alaskan cruise – all that gorgeous scenery AND the possibility of polar bears – i’m sold.

Eve – I’ve wanted to go to India for as long as I can remember – I’ve always been fascinated by its culture – and this year I’m determined to make it happen.

Ian – I want to make it to Japan this year. Mainly for the robots.

George – With two babies I probably won’t be taking off on any epic round the world voyages any time soon, but I’m really keen on the idea of Rome – I’m a bit of a foodie, and where better to learn how to make the perfect Napolitana sauce than the Eternal City?

Troy – There’s loads of places on my must-travel list this year but one place that definitely hasn’t made the cut is Benidorm – if you’re a regular reader of this blog you’ll have heard about my incident with an sewage filled ocean – I’m sure it’s fine most of the time but my view of this particular Spanish resort has been somewhat sullied by this experience!

Joe: South America – specifically Rio – specifically, when Carnival’s on! I think I’d look rather fetching in a multi-coloured headress.

We’re a bit thin on the ground at the moment, it being Christmas and all, but these are our New Years travel resolutions…now tell us yours!
