2023 is here and there are a number of fun and exciting exhibitions, openings, and events taking place in the month of January. Keep reading to find out more about some of these upcoming happenings!
Tutankhamun Reimagined
This abstract exhibition is being held until the 29th of January at the British Museum, and will feature a number of works by Nofal O. Nofal O. is a graffiti artist who specialises in interpretations of Ancient egypt, mostly in the form of street murals. This exhibition is entirely free of charge, making it a great daytime activity for people of all ages.

Sichuan Fry and Dumpling Shack
Dumpling Shack is one of Spitalfields Market’s most sought-after food stalls, and its popularity has urged owners John and Yee Li to open their first restaurant in Hackney’s London Fields. Specialising in authentic Sichuan food, this venue’s opening is highly anticipated and is due to take place on the 5th January. This restaurant is rumoured to consist of two floors, the first of which will serve Sichuan fried chicken, while the basement will offer a range of delicious soup-filled dumplings!

London Film Fair
The beloved London Film Fair will return on the 29th of January, giving attendees the opportunity to meet some of their favourite stars of classic television programmes and films. There are a number of well-known actors on the line-up, including Anne Lonnberg, Ian Flintoff, and Paul Bannon. While at this event, you can obtain autographs from the stars, although it is recommended that you pre-order your tickets to ensure that you secure the autographs from the celebrities that you would most like to meet. Tickets to the event range from £100 to £110, and autograph pre-order tickets cost between £15 and £20.

Jacuzzi, Kensington
The owners of London’s popular Italian restaurants Circolo Popolare, Gloria, Ave Mario, and Napoli Gang are opening a brand new venue in Kensington called Jacuzzi. Jacuzzi will open on the 20th and will serve indulgent Italian cuisine across four floors of a majestic building that used to be a bank. Other restaurants in the Big Mamma restaurant chain are adored for their extravagant dishes and lavish interiors, and there is no doubt that the Kensington branch will follow suit — it’s rumoured to feature a giant lemon tree and a ‘disco toilet’!
