We find that getting away with your most loved ones is an excellent way to say goodbye to the old year and wave in the new one. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite stays for the transition from 2023 to 2024.

In the UK, New Year’s Eve is arguably best celebrated in Edinburgh, where the four-day event is referred to as Hogmanay. The whole city gets involved and there are street parties, silent discos, ceilidhs and mass karaoke to take part in.

This overnight stay is one of the most affordable options that we found, and sees you staying in the a&o hostel, but in a private room. The hostel itself has its own bar, which makes for a great base for before you head out for the festivities.
