There are a few places in the world that make us gasp with wonder, and Saint Lucia might just be one of them.
Volcanic peaks seem to rise from the waters surrounding the island, and on them, rich soil nurtures a blanket of lush vegetation. The country is filled with waterfalls and rain forests, and its reefs boast an array of marine wildlife. Read on for our favourite beauty spots on this lush island.
The Pitons
These twin mountain peaks tower over the land, side by side forming the most recognisible landmark on the island. Gros Piton, the larger one, is easiest to hike up, owing to its better facilities and numerous guides on hand to lead visitors through the forests covering it.

Soufriere, a district in the southwestern part of the island and home to the Pitons, also showcases other natural beauties like Soufriere Volcano, the island’s “drive in” volcano. Here, you can bathe in the sulphur springs and cover yourself in the nutrient-rich mud which is great for the skin, and you can also get really close to the crater of the now-dormant volcano.
Pigeon Island
Though the name suggests otherwise, this piece of land is connected to the mainland via an artificial causeway. It’s protected by the Natural Trust and is open year round for visits. On the islet there are two beaches, a couple of restaurants and military buildings including British-built Fort Rodney.
Marigot Bay

Lying just outside the capital, Castries, this picturesque bay has been praised as one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean. The hilly landscape surrounding it shelters still, impossibly blue seawater populated by yachts and speedboats.
Diamond Falls Botanical Garden
Also in Soufriere, this attraction is housed within six acres of fertile land. Featuring a beautiful waterfall and mineral baths with steamy medicinal water and a vivid collection of tropical plants, these gardens can be enjoyed throughout the year.
Anse Chastanet Beach
This is one of the best beaches for diving on the island. The Anse Chastanet reef draws in a vast array of marine life, giving divers of all levels the opportunity to see turtles, sea horses octopui and lots of other interesting sea creatures!
Moule-A-Chique Peninsula

For amazing photo opportunities, visit the southern tip of the island. Walking up to the viewpoint of the peninsula means you’ll be rewarded with beautiful views of the Saint Lucian coast to the north and, on a clear day, the outline of neighbouring island, St. Vincent to the south.
