This restaurant’s position, nestled just a quiet street away from Old Town Square, means you can enjoy dinner, then duck out in time to see the astronomical clock strike! The warmly lit, domed interior creates a cosy atmosphere, while flickering candles, trickling fountains and repeated Buddha motifs lend a tranquil vibe.

The menu is inspired by a range of cuisines from Mexican to Thai to Czech, with many dishes ticking raw, vegan or gluten-free boxes to boot. Standout mains include spicy goulash, and a quesadilla stuffed with tomatoes, fresh spinach and olives. Be sure to leave room for dessert, too – on the sweet menu, you’ll find plum pancakes, raw apple strudel and a chocolate cake infused with juicy oranges and maple syrup.

Just east of Most Legii lies Estrella – an impeccably presented, ever-packed eatery serving up light, vegetarian dishes that are big on both looks and flavour. The kitchen puts an emphasis on using local, seasonal ingredients, with the menu featuring dishes from asparagus and caramelised risotto to beet burgers. However, it’s the sunshine yellow Thai curry that has most guests planning a return trip – some even admit to dreaming of the curry in subsequent sleeps!

It’s hard to ignore the relentless praise heaped upon this restaurant – many diners deem it the best restaurant in Prague, vegan or otherwise. Located at the top of a few appetite-boosting flights of stairs, it’s safe to say you’ll earn your meal. Boasting ‘traditional’ vegan favourites such as zucchini lasagne piled with cashew cheese, and an ‘Andy Warhol’ burger starring guacamole, beetroot and quinoa, you’ll also find vegan takes on Czech specialities – a traditional potato goulash, and Svickova with dumplings and smoked tempeh.

A cosy, casual vegan nook, Moment is known for sweet treats that’ll make you weak at the knees – think triple-layered dark chocolate cakes piled high with clouds of vegan cream, and silky smooth cheesecakes that’ll have you questioning whether the kitchen actually has a few kilos of cream cheese hidden out the back. Sip an oat milk flat white as you savour your treats, then pick out a few cookies to munch on the way back to your hotel. We won’t judge!

Not far from Charles Bridge, Lehká Hlav is known for its quirky interiors – some tables glow, and the ceilings are painted with images of stars and swirling galaxies. It’s one of Prague’s best-loved vegetarian haunts, as a pioneering force in the space. Bite into cheesy tacos, scoop up forkfuls of truffle-flavoured risotto, and offset tart mouthfuls of raspberry crumble with sweet, creamy peanut cheesecake. Two desserts are better than one, after all!
