Peckham’s Copeland Park always makes for an interesting wander, with its assortment of trendy bars and eateries and jumble of treasures waiting to be found in its vintage shops and record stores. There’s currently even more to draw the eye, as The London Group Open 2023 is now showing in its gallery space. The 85th exhibition of its kind by the collective features around 200 works by both members and non-members of The London Group, and these are a delightful mixture of painting, sculpture, drawing, print, photography, mixed media, installation, video, sound, digital and performance. Prizes will be awarded on the evening of the 16th, while artists’ talks will take place over the weekend.

This multifunctional site is home to a basement club, a rooftop wine bar, and co-working spaces. On the ground floor, you’ll find a food hall that features a smorgasbord of cuisines, from spicy rotisserie chicken and delicate sushi to Balkan small plates bursting with flavour at Eastern Bloc. Recent additions to the Eastern Bloc menu include brunchy bites such as a kielbasa, egg and hash brown bun that’s made with Rinkoff Bakery brioche, smoked sausage, crispy hash brown, baked egg, pomegranate BBQ, rocket and a touch of salsa verde!

At the front of Market Peckham, overlooking the ever-lively Rye Lane, you’ll find the sultry coffee shop and cocktail bar Jazu. With retro dark wood features and decks that only spin vinyl, it’s just the spot for a laid-back catch up with a side of people-watching.
