Ainu Stories: Contemporary Lives by the Saru River

Japan House London

101-111 Kensington High St, W8 5SA

Running from: 16th November 2023 – 21st April 2024

If, like us, you like to take advantage of London’s free events, then why not pay a visit to Japan House London this weekend? A new exhibition, Ainu Stories, opens on Thursday and allows visitors to experience Ainu culture for themselves. Ainu culture predominantly exists in the south of Hokkaido, an area within the Biratori region of Japan. This exhibition will highlight some of the culture’s most distinct traditions, as well as analyse language and policy, providing exhibition goers with a well rounded and informative display of the culture’s core values and practices.
