Here at dealchecker, we’re still waiting for summer to start. To cheer us up we’ve rounded up some events from around the globe this July which are guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Comic-Con International – San Diego

Comic-Con has been immortalised in shows such as the Big Bang Theory but has been drawing in huge crowds since its inception in 1970. The event, which takes place from the 21st – 24th July this year, is a celebration of all things comic – there are film screenings, workshops and games to get involved in.

In order to get in to the spirit of the event, be sure to dress up. People here take fancy dress very, very seriously and it’s all part of the fun.

Darwin Beer Can Regatta – Darwin

The Darwin Beer Can Regatta marries beer, creativity and the sea – what’s not to love? The annual event, which is set to take place on Sunday 17th July 2016, sees contestants building boats out of beer cans and milk containers before setting off in a frantic race at sea. Anyone who is happy to build a boat within the regulations set out here is welcome to partake but it’s also a fun day out for the spectator. There’s plenty of splashing and anticipation as participants wait to see if their boats will float!

Tramlines Festival – Sheffield

Tramlines Festival in Sheffield is incredibly, incredibly cheap given the line up. This year’s offering sees Dizzee Rascal, Kelis and Jurassic 5 amongst others take to the stage over the course of the weekend of 22nd – 24th July. You can dance the night (and day) away in a number of intimate venues for no more than £42.

Salzburg Festival – Salzburg

The city that brought us Mozart has an annual festival which celebrates opera, classical music and theatre in grand surroundings. The Salzburg Festival runs from the 22nd July – 31st August 2016 and features some of Shakespeare’s finest plays alongside the Vienna Philharmonic and opera for children.
