Southbank Parklands
posted by pmosser The South Bank Parklands are the legacy of the 1988 world expo and aren't like any city parks I've ever seen. They have areas of cultivated rainforest and swampland. There is also a vast man made beach which is a great spot to cool off- especially if you're there at the height of summer. Another nic ... more Hotel George Williams
posted by Shaon The Hotel George Williams is on of the most economical hotels in Brisbane. Located on George Street, the hotel is very close to many malls, restaurants, shops, a cinema hall and the train station. The staffs were very helpful and duty minded. The room was a very basic hotel room with decent furnishi ... more CityCat Ferry
posted by DVC_Chris The CityCat Ferry was recommended to me by the hotel concierge as a great way to spend the day seeing all of the sights of Brisbane. For a very reasonable rate I was able to take a slow and scenic ride throughout the city, and get off at the stops that interested me to see local sights before getti ... more River walk
posted by greighner Start at the beautiful City Botanic Gardens and follow the river north past the skyscrapers. You will find yourself on the floating RiverWalk which connects over 20kms of walking paths, parks and bikeways along the Brisbane River. It's a great walk and a good way to escape the crowds. |
Brisbane has really grown into its skin as the third largest city in Australia, and today is a major draw to tourists. Brisbane holidays pull in the crowds and many may be surprised how this thriving metropolis still retains its rather sedate pace of life. It certainly makes Brisbane it stand out from other urban centres. When seeking car hire Brisbane Airport is a good place to start; you can book in advance as most major companies are present, and local firms are represented too. You can reach Brisbane hotels in a hire car and enjoy the fast growing accommodation market where affordability and quality are not mutually exclusive. Each year in August the Ekka Festival takes place, bringing the city to life. And this is just one of the many widespread parties which bring the city together. If you pick up car rental in Brisbane then you can visit the state forest in Mount Coot-tha, head to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens or go rock climbing at Kangaroo Point Cliffs. Outside of your car hire Brisbane opens up in different ways; there are miles of cycle paths stretching across parkland and along the banks of the river.Hiring A Car In Brisbane
