dealchecker's guide to Menorca

Menorca is the quietest island in the Balearic Islands and it boasts the most beaches too! You may not find the non-stop nightlife of Mallorca and Ibiza but you will certainly find your little piece of paradise.

Getting to Menorca
As the Balearic?s are so popular with British holiday makers there are plenty of flights to Menorca, particularly during the peak summer months. You can fly from airports across the UK on a good range of low-cost and scheduled airlines. If you don?t have to travel in the school holidays you?ll find much cheaper flights and the resorts will be quieter. Like other Mediterranean destinations the shoulder seasons of May, June, September and October are the best times to visit and you could try winter but be prepared for damp cool weather.

What to do in Menorca
There are over 100 beaches and plenty of hidden coves to explore so organising Menorca car rental is a really good option if you want to explore the coastline. Cala en Turqueta and Cala Galdana in the south are a couple of the prettiest beaches. Once you have your flights you can search for a great hotel deal or for an easy option you could pick up a Menorca holiday package which gives you flights, accommodation and often board and transfers too. The capital Mahon, is the best place to go to check out the historical sights including remnants from the many battles that were fought to control the island. It also has a lovely harbour and is a popular pick-up point for car hire. Menorca doesn?t have many attractions aside from its beautiful beaches but then again what else do you need?
