Set in the fantastic Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Aspen is the ultimate holiday destination for skiers. Although not a huge mountain it has brilliant ski runs that will thrill and exhilarate even the most experienced skier. It has cold winters and warm summers so is the perfect year round holiday destination. There are many hotels available which range in price so if you're looking for cheap hotels Aspen will certainly be able to offer you something. A flight to Aspen will take you to their small airport known as Sardy Fields (or Aspen-Pitkin County Airport). This only has one runway so Aspen flights are only available between certain times of the day. Aspen flights depart from London Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, where there are many cheap flights to Aspen available. Aspen car hire is probably the best way to see the town and all its attractions. The town only has one highway and a local bus service is also available. During the winter months the smaller roads are often closed making access to the town by road very difficult. One of the key attractions in Aspen is Independence Pass. This scenic drive is both scary and beautiful, with its rows of Aspen trees and wonderful views it's a drive that is worth taking. There are also ranches where you can hire horses and follow the amazing trails around the town.
