This viewing platorm in Deryneia shows off the last spot where the Turkish invaders came to in 1974. The views are great and it's lovely to know a bit more of the history of this lovely island.

Really peaceful, lovely and remote beach. You'll need a car to get there (or hop in one of the ubiquitous taxis) but it's totally worth it.

I wasn't sure about staying in Ayia Napa given its reputation, but in the low season it's really quite sedate and pretty, with the Marine Life Museum offering a good diversion for the kids, particularly the dinosaur sea bed!
