Flights to Brisbane depart from all the main airports in the UK, although many of the regional flights to Brisbane generally involve a change in London. A cheap flight to Brisbane can take anywhere from 23 hours upwards, and all flights have at least one stop along the way. Bus: Airport transfer buses meet every flight into Brisbane Airport and run routes to Gold Coast destinations as well as across the city. You will need to book these but if you're unable to do so in advance then you can also book at the booth in the arrivals area. Train: The Airtrain runs connections between the international and domestic terminals at Brisbane Airport, as well as into the city and to destinations on the Gold Coast. The service into the city runs every 15 minutes, but isn't a 24 hour service. If you're on a family trip to Brisbane this is definitely the way to go as kids under 14 travel free when accompanied by an adult. Brisbane has a tropical climate and two distinct seasons. There is a hot summer which runs from November into April, and at this time expect high temperatures and humidity. December is the most popular month, as we all try to escape the European winter, so expect the most expensive prices for both Brisbane hotels and flights in this month. The weather in Brisbane between May and October is much more pleasant weather and as an added bonus, holidays at this time are much more affordable - although watch out for the frequent conferences booking out entire hotels! You can also take advantage of some of Brisbane's events by planning your holiday at certain times of the year. For example, enjoy whale watching in Brisbane's Moreton Bay in 2013 and 2014 by booking your holiday between May and November, or experience the popular Brisbane Festival in September.
