Good location in the city centre and very close to the bus station. Free wi-fi connection was the bid advantage there. I have noticed a special in Zenit that, I have seen the pillow menu! With 300 days of sunshine a year, it's a surprise that Murcia is one of the lesser visited areas in Spain. Murcia city is capital of the Murcia region, which neighbours Andalucia, and it's Moorish inspired tapas are just as good! The university gives the place an extra buzz and the nearby Mediterranean adds an easy feel. Originally an Islamic town, Murcia still has traces of North African influence amongst the Gothic and Renaissance architecture. It's an easy destination to wander, eat and lap up the heat. You can find a cheap flight to Murcia with Ryanair or Easyjet, who both fly from London and most regional airports, including Newcastle and Bristol (Easyjet), East Midlands, Glasgow and Liverpool (Ryanair). A flight to Murcia take around 2 and a half hours from London. British Airways do not yet offer flights to Murcia. Spanish airline Iberia do have Murcia flights but these normally stop in either Madrid or Barcelona so can take up to 6 hours. The airport is a 45 minute bus journey from the city.
There's almost always sun, so you can really choose your flight to Murcia whenever suits you. July and August can be unforgivingly hot, so it might be best to choose a cheap flight to Murcia outside of these months. May and September are often the most pleasant, still dry and with plenty of sun, and even as early as March and as late as October can be warm (though October is also Murcia's wettest month), with temperatures of around 17 to 18 degrees C. Though beware the Easter weekend if you're looking for really cheap flights to Murcia, as the prices can rise considerably.
A cheap flight to Murcia can deliver you not only to sunshine but also to some of the country's best tapas: start your gastronomic tour in the Plaza de las Flores. The fourteenth century Catedral de Santa Maria, built on a mosque, is worth a look, as is the Gran Casino, with its Arab style hall. Many tourists head straight for the developed resort of La Manga, but Murcia itself can provide plenty of delights from Moorish Spain. Head to the university area if it's nightlife you're looking for, or out to the Mediterranean to see the sea, or just enjoy wandering round Murcia city.
