All you need to know about holidays to Prague

Prague holidays have been made popular thanks to hen and stag parties who are attracted by the cheap beer prices - and they are very low! But there can be so much more to holidays in Prague, if only you can tear yourself away from the bar!

How to get to Prague

Direct cheap flights to Prague are available from a choice of airports across the UK, and there are several low-cost carriers who run the routes, meaning you can easily arrange a cheap trip to Prague. Once you've arrived there are a choice of buses, shuttle buses and taxis to get to the centre.

Where to stay in Prague

Hotels in Prague's Old Town or near Wenceslas Square will tend to be the most expensive, but with the metro and trams, it's easy to stay a little further out. Look out for hotels in the East to enjoy a holiday amongst Prague's arty side, or out to the South for a more modern feel.

What to do in Prague

You can't have a holiday to Prague and not spend some time exploring the Castle complex and taking a walk over the Charles Bridge, but after that, it's up to you! Take in the nightlife around Wenceslas Square, wander the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter and join the other tourists to see the Astronomical clock chime. The National Museum is closed until 2015 but there are plenty of other places to soak up the history here.

  • DOXThis new contemporary art museum is really pushing the boundaries with a huge space, installations and exhibitions. Ok, so it's a bit of a trek from the centre but it's worth it and you can see Prague go by out of the window along the way too.

  • Letna GardensBeautiful park with wonderful views, a great place to stop for the afternoon with a couple of beers from the beer garden. There's great views over the city to be had and some exciting bits to explore too if the sightseer in you won't be quelled.
