It's amazing to walk around this market thinking it's been pretty similar since the middle ages. The smells and sights are infectious and you'll want to wander for hours so leave plenty of time for your visit!

There are so many fantstic things to see in Cairo, and particularly at the Egyptian Museum but the sheer size of this statue, and the fact that it had to be cut into pieces to move in 1882, 3000 years after it was made, is just astonishing. Those Egyptians were smart.
