Monday is market day here so either steer clear of the madness or go and seek out your souvenirs for bargain prices. There's clothes, shoes, all manner of leather goods, jewellery, spices and even rugs if you're feeling good about hand luggage!

What an amazing day trip. The journey was long but totally worth it, have never seen anything like it in my life! It's like a shining white snow-covered hill, but it's mineral deposits, perhaps one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen.

Gumbet is a purpose-built resort very close to Bodrum on Turkey's southern coast. As they continue to develop both are getting closer together, which gives you a wide choice of hotels. Gumbet, like its larger neighbour, is ideal for those looking to spend time chilling on the beach, saving up energy to party the night away in one of the many bars and clubs.

When to go
There are great opportunities to bag a cheap hotel in Gumbet, especially if you avoid the peak season, and it offers good value for money as a holiday destination as well as an opportunity to work on that tan!
