Famed the world over for its spectacular historic and architectural riches, Luxor is one of the best tourist spots in Upper Egypt. Luxor holidays offer visitors many attractions from enormous temples, ancient royal tombs and stunning desert landscapes to river views in the Nile Valley.

Choosing a Luxor Hotel

When you start to look for hotels, you will realise that the city is divided into two main areas on either side of the Nile. The vast majority of hotels are on the East Bank along with much of the rest of the town and restaurants. This is also the district which contains the Luxor Temple and the Temple of Karnak. You will still find hotels on the West Bank, but this is largely the district of the main ruins such as the Valley of the Kings. There is a wide spectrum of options ? if you are looking for a cheap hotel in Luxor, there are plenty to choose from. You can find camping facilities and luxury hotels too.

When to visit Luxor

In terms of climate, there is no real rainy season to avoid in Luxor.
