Nice is a city on the south east coast of France on the Mediterranean Sea. The area in and around the city is thought to be one of the earliest settlements of humans in Europe. Terra Amata, which is an archaeological site in the region, has signs of very early use of fire and the Greeks built a settlement there in around 350 BC. It is close to Monte Carlo which should be considered as a day trip excursion.
Nice has been a popular holiday destination for almost 200 years. Originally used by English aristocrats to escape the winter, it's now popular with everyone as cheap holidays in Nice become more available due to the good range of cheap hotels in Nice. Nice hotels can cater for everything from business travellers to sun seekers and those wanting to explore the picturesque countryside, which attracts walkers and artists from far afield. You can choose boutique hotels in the centre of town, business hotels from well known chains or alternatively why not consider the many hotels than can be found on the oceanfront.
Plenty of Nice flights are available year round. The airport is the second busiest in France after Paris, possibly due to sun seekers taking advantage of the cheap hotels in Nice. Nice has a Mediterranean climate, with a six month summer from May to October, however, winters are also mild, so if you are looking for winter sun hotels Nice is a good place to start.
