Rhodes has the best sunshine record in all of Greece, with over 300 days a year, making it a highlight of the Dodecanese islands. The Byzantines, Turks and Romans have all left their mark on the historic town. Cafes, restaurants and boutiques decorate the narrow cobbled streets and the warm waters of the Aegean Sea are never far away.

When to go
Like the rest of Greece, the best weather's in June, July and August and as these months form the peak tourist season you'll have to work hard to find a cheap Rhodes' hotel. You're more likely to find a cheap hotel in the months either side of summer and even winter is still fairly warm.

Where to stay
The resorts in Rhodes offer everything from wild partying to laid-back sophistication so there should be plenty of opportunities to find the perfect Rhodes' hotel. Party goers should head for Faliraki where you'll find the wildest nightlife. If you want a more sophisticated night out then join the smartly dressed locals as they head out to the bars and clubs of Rhodes Town itself.
The Ixian Grand Hotel, Rhodes is a good luxury hotel. The mid range is well catered for and the Lindos Memories Hotel, Rhodes is well reviewed. The budget market offers lots of possibilities and the Lindos Memories Hotel, Rhodes is well thought of.

What to do
Away from the beach, the Lindos Acropolis and the Valley of the Butterflies are worth visiting. A number of tours also make the short hop across the water to Turkey where you can visit the markets.
