Quick Guide to Cocoa Beach

They say it’s all in the name, and that’s certainly true of Florida’s Cocoa Beach as this destination’s all about the sand, sea and surf.

An island-like seaside resort, Cocoa Beach comes with all the seaside trimmings you’d expect. There’s 12 miles of sandy beaches, a lively pier, watersports and plenty of beachside parks. Surfing’s super popular here, and boarders flock to the sparkling waters to ride waves all year round. Along the coast, you’ll find numerous cafes to hangout in and enjoy the sea views from too.

The historic village centre oozes old Americana charm and is brimming with restaurants and bars as well as some great shops to pick up souvenirs.

Cocoa Beach is also well placed for Florida’s plethora of attractions. Kennedy NASA Space Centre’s literally on its doorstep, while Orlando’s famous theme parks are around an hour away by car. Wildlife lovers won’t want to miss a trip to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge where you can glimpse manatees and alligators during your USA break.

Best Time to go to Cocoa Beach

A firm favourite with families, Cocoa Beach is pretty busy over the summer months, so if you’d rather avoid the worst of the crowds, and the stifling heat, book flights to Florida between September and late-October or between late-January and late-April when things are a little cooler and less hectic.
