1. Cancun, Mexico
Typically reaching temperatures of between 27-30°C throughout November and December, Cancun is a great location to visit if you’re longing for some winter sun. Cancun is known for its spectacular views and turquoise waters and has an undoubtedly luxurious vibe, ideal for those who are yearning for a relaxing holiday. Additionally, Cancun has a vibrant nightlife and is well known for being a destination that people often flee to for ‘spring break’, making this city a great location for those who are partial to a fiesta.
2. Dominican Republic, Caribbean
Famous for its tropical landscapes and clear waters, the Dominican Republic has become one of the most sought-after destinations within the Caribbean. During the colder months this beautiful location typically reaches highs of 30°C and lows of 20°C, however the weather usually remains sunny with little wind, meaning that you are best sticking to light clothing in the daytime – but bring something to wrap up in for the evenings. From watersports to picturesque hikes, if you’re looking for a winter holiday destination that offers a range of activities, then this could be the place for you!
3. Tenerife, Canary Islands
If you fancy going on holiday to somewhere a little bit closer, Tenerife is a great option. This well-loved tourist destination offers limitless activities to get stuck into, including the world-famous water park Siam Park, and excursions up the island’s active volcano: Mount Teide. This is a great location for families, friends, and couples, and typically reaches between 20-30°C from November to January. The heat in the winter might actually be more comfortable than during the summer – temperatures reached highs of 44°C this year!

In Australia, our winter is their summer – meaning that you could quite literally travel back to the summer season by visiting Australia this winter. While this destination is hardly nearby, it is a beautiful country filled with must-see locations to travel to and is definitely one for the bucket list!
5. Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Another holiday recommendation for those looking to visit a balmy destination this winter is Dubai. Unlike many of the other countries listed, the temperature in Dubai is usually consistently warm even throughout the colder months, typically ranging between 20-35°C! This destination is well-loved for its luxurious feel, beautiful scenery and magnificent skyline, making it a great destination to travel to at any time of the year. However, we recommend visiting Dubai for New Year’s Eve to see the world-famous firework display!
