The Room with The View

The Shard has been a landmark on the London horizon for a while now, but the buzz is well and truly back as The View (that’s the viewing floors at the Shard to you and me) has opened at long last! In honour of this exciting occasion, we’re bringing you our top five views – not an easy task at all considering how much beauty there in in the world!

We couldn’t resist! We’ve long been in love with the view from the London Eye, and more recently the Emirates Airline, but with the Shard towering above absolutely everything we can only imagine what you can see. I’ve got my ticket for later in the month – come join me! We’ve spotted this one-night break from £31 per person at the Thistle Barbican, which is in a great location for exploring all of London!

New York

Empire State from Top of the Rock

The stunning Manhattan skyline is world famous with amazing views from both Top of the Rock at the Rockefeller Center, and of course from the Empire State Building. Take in the views, as well as other sights such as Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and much more with this offer. Prices start from £660 per person for a five-night break staying at the four-star Eurostars Wall Street, based on 14th March travel.

Rio de Janeiro

Down the cable car lines
Dael Poulter

As one of the host cities of the upcoming World Cup in 2014, as well as the destination for the Olympics in 2016, Rio is a hot ticket at the moment. But we love it for its unbelievably gorgeous views. Take it all in from Corcovado Mountain or take the iconic cable car – at sunset if you can! Even better, we’ve found flights from £505 return!

Grand Canyon

We’re not sure that nature gets much more inspiring than the Grand Canyon, which is best visited from Las Vegas. Prices start from £1,529 per person for a 15-night fly-drive holiday in a convertible car, staying at deluxe hotels along the way! We’re definitely sure that this will be an amazing holiday!

Florence

The beauty in this gorgeous Italian city is all about Renaissance style. Climb the iconic Duomo to see Florence at your feet, or get a sweeping vista of everything from the Piazzale Michelangelo. It’s a bit of a walk but it’s most definitely worth it. Stay at the Renaissance four-star Astoria Hotel Florence from £124 per person for three nights here.
