Visit Faliraki Beach

Faliraki Beach in Rhodes

Golden sands, crystal clear waters and a blue flag status for superior bathing water quality and coastal protection, Faliraki beach is an easy choice when looking for a great beach in Rhodes. Sure it can get quite busy, being one of the most popular beaches on the island. But with so much to do here it’s hardly surprising. With loads of watersports options from a fun banana boat ride with the family to jet skiing, there’s plenty to keep you busy. There’s even an opportunity to do a bungee jump while visiting! With Faliraki being quite a hot spot, it can get quite busy. If you are looking for some space it is worth visiting the nearby beaches in Kolymbia.

Spend a day at Water Park

Water park

Water Park in Faliraki is the among the largest waterparks in Europe, covering a massive 100,000 square metres. Open from May through to October every year, the park has a wide range of rides including free-fall, black hole, turbo, kamikaze and other extreme speed slides. There’s also a lazy river for those looking to have a more peaceful day out. With something for all ages this definitely is one of Faliraki’s most popular attractions.

Rhodes Old Town

Not far from Faliraki, Rhodes Old Town is definitely worth a visit. Surrounded by medieval walls and with around 200 cobbled streets and lanes with no names, it is very easy to get lost when visiting the historic centre of Rhodes. But with loads of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and museums everywhere, getting lost here is not such a bad thing. Make sure you pay a visit to the Grand Master’s Palace with its impressive marble floors while you’re here.

Petaloudes – Valley of Butterflies

Just a short drive from Faliraki lies a fascinating tourist attraction that all visitors to the island should definitely check out. The Valley of Butterflies is filled with oriental sweet-gum trees and the scent attracts thousands of beautiful butterflies. It is important to remain fairly quiet and not make any sudden movements when walking through the valley, but with stunning rivers and waterfalls and amazing greenery all around, it’s pretty easy to keep quiet and just soak up the atmosphere around you.

Horseback Riding

Why not watch a beautiful Greek sunset whilst horseback riding along Faliraki beach? The Fivos horseback riding club does some great trips, but their beach ride is by far their most popular and it’s pretty reasonable in price too! If the beach ride isn’t your sort of thing then you can always opt for the three-hour ride that takes you to the Lake of Saint John and Kalithea. The club also does riding lessons for beginners or those who need a quick refresher before joining the trips.
