There are hundreds of breathtaking hotels across the world, many of which have been featured in television programs and movies. While all of these hotels are striking both in their decor and architecture, they are notoriously expensive, with many of them costing thousands for just one night’s stay.

The Ritz-Carlton, Paris

There are a number of wildly popular Ritz hotels scattered across the world, in destinations such as London, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Bali, Japan, and Thailand. While all of these hotels can be categorised as luxury accommodations, the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Paris is arguably the most sought after, and is famous for appearing in Love in the Afternoon starring Audrey Hepburn. This hotel is rumoured to be worth between £800 million to £1 billion, and the most expensive suite is L’Appartement Ritz, which costs over £35,000 per night.

Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai

While the Taj Mahal in Agra is one of India’s most famous landmarks, the Taj Mahal Palace is a stunning hotel located in Mumbai. Built in the early 1900s, it was the first luxury hotel in India and even now, it has strict limitations on how long you can stay – guests can only stay at the Taj Mahal Palace for one night at a time, and once their stay is over they cannot return for six months. This hotel costs upwards of 25 thousand Indian rupees per night. 

Beverly Hills Hotel, Los Angeles 

The Beverly Hills Hotel is a chic hotel with a vintage feel, filled with powder pink walls and stylish decor. This hotel is undeniably popular amongst tourists, with many securing a single-night stay when visiting Los Angeles. Like many other upscale hotels, The Beverly Hills Hotel is pricey and costs a minimum of $1,295 per night. It houses four dining and drinking venues, and many people choose to visit just for a coffee or mid-afternoon cocktail while touring Los Angeles. 

Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas

Atlantis Paradise Island is an island resort with five different hotels and a 141-acre waterpark onsite, which guests have complimentary access to throughout their stay. Atlantis Paradise Island is stylish and modern in its appearance, and offers a variety of different accommodation options. Prices vary depending on the resort that you stay in, however rooms in The Cove begin at $309 per night and require a minimum stay of two nights.

Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi

The Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi is located on a private beach and is an incredibly famous hotel, known by many around the world. From its eclectic and stylish Arabian decor, to its wide range of luxurious rooms available, this hotel is absolutely spectacular. Similar to the Atlantis Paradise Island, the Emirates Palace also boasts an onsite waterpark and offers unlimited access to guests of the hotel during their stay. The average price of a one-night stay in the Emirates Palace is £450. 

The Plaza, New York City

This timeless hotel is one of the most legendary in the world. Famous for its glamorous yet tasteful decoration and architecture, The Plaza is a beloved wedding venue and hotel in the centre of New York City. Guest rooms begin at $743 per night, and prices can be as high as $3,675 per night for luxury suites. Featured in films such as Bride Wars, Funny Girl, The Great Gatsby, and 101 Dalmatians, we bet you’ll recognise its majestic entrance at the very least.

Palms, Las Vegas

Palms Casino Resort is one of the most sought after and famous resorts within Las Vegas. Known for its gambling venues and modern furnishings, this hotel is definitely one for the bucket list. This hotel is notoriously glamorous, but rooms can cost anywhere from $69 to $599 per night depending on the dates that you select. The Empathy Suite is rumoured to cost $100,000 for just one night, making it the world’s most expensive hotel suite – it was designed by Damien Hirst and features its own private pool!

Claridge’s, London

Claridge’s is a well-loved luxury hotel located in Mayfair, famous for its elegant interior and attentive staff. This magnificent building features six dreamy dining rooms and lounges, each of which is decorated to perfection. The Painter’s Room and Le Fumoir are two of Claridge’s best-loved cocktails bars, both of which are beautifully designed in art deco style. Standard rooms cost from £930 per night, and the most pricey room is the Royal Suite which costs £14,000 per night.
