Alexandra Palace’s Fireworks Display: 3rd and 4th November 2023

Price: £17

While not until next weekend, this popular fireworks display often sells out fast so you’ll want to book in early! It’s not all about the display either, which is itself one of London’s most impressive; there’s also a towering bonfire here, while live music performances and DJ sets from Fat Tony and DJ Spoony are set to keep the revelry going, and food trucks will keep those energy levels up.

Eat At:

Sambal Shiok

171 Holloway Rd, London N7 8LX

This Malaysian spot has been running for over a decade, and has sat in its current premises on Holloway Road since 2018. It serves up vast bowls of steaming laksa that are spicy enough to chase off even the harshest of colds. In short, its the sort of food that is much needed at this time of year: it’s comforting while feeling like it’s doing you good too.

dealchecker Tip: We recommend ordering the rose milk to help soothe your tongue when that chilli hits!

Drink In:

The Faltering Fullback

19 Perth Rd, Finsbury Park, London N4 3HB

This sprawling pub is one of north London’s best loved and with very good reason. It’s a firm favourite with sports lovers who come here to watch the football, rugby and more, while the buzz it boasts will have you ordering multiple pints and glasses of wine when you’re meant to be going for “just one” on a Thursday night. However, it’s the vast treehouse-esque beer garden that sets it so far apart from other pubs.

Friday afternoon and evening is currently looking sunny, so dash on over here to catch the last of those rays before the dark nights truly draw in.
