 Cala den Serra Beach

This is a stunning spot on the northern tip of the island, a world away from the party vibe the island is known for. Be sure to take your beach umbrella and prepare for a day of total relaxation.

wow, it's like going back into the past when you show up here! Lovely little houses, although i'm sure the defence towers means that at some point they weren't quite as welcoming as they are today!!!

This is where you want to head if you're after a classy night out in Eivissa! Nothing but super-expensive yachts and post restaurants as far as the eye can see! Unfortunatley, our budget didn't quite stretch that far so we had to make do with a picnic on a jetty but there's a lovely atmosphere aroun ... more

Anything but! But the kids love this land train and it's nice to get taken for a little trip and watch the sights and beautiful views go by.

We wandered around the old town one day and it was stunning, I didn't really expect it having only seen the strip the rest of the holiday. Amazing views from the battlements by the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Snows.

dealchecker's guide to Ibiza

Ibiza is one of the Balearic Islands, which is a small archipelago off the east cost of Spain. While cheap holidays to Ibiza are usually pictured as being all about partying all night in super clubs and being surrounded by beautiful people, the 'White Isle' is also a great place for family holidays with its quiet northern beaches and beautiful interior.

How to get to Ibiza

There are cheap flights to Ibiza available from lots of airports across the UK, and with plenty of competition from the budget airlines there are lots of bargains to be had. Starting your Ibiza holiday doesn't take too long once you get in the air, with flights arriving in under four hours.

When to go to Ibiza

The peak Ibiza holiday season runs from May through to September with the most popular months being June, July and August when the island is at its hottest, which makes this time the most expensive too. Unofficially, the island is split in two with the family resorts to the north and the hedonistic clubbers in the south. San Antonio and Ibiza Town are becoming increasingly party-centric, although a wander around the old towns is a fun way to get to know the place. Car hire in Ibiza is the best way to see more of the island.

What to do in Ibiza

Whether you want to chill out in the north or party all night in the south, you'll certainly notice that holidays in Ibiza aren't cheap. Although sorting out your flights and accommodation might not hurt the budget too much, doing things can add up. Visit beaches, drive to small villages and sample the traditional cooking, and seek out some of the legendary hidden spots to save money. And if you want to head over for the 2012 or 2013 clubbing seasons in Ibiza, keep your eye open for announcements so you can snap up a bargain! Opening weekend in Ibiza in 2012 is late May so you could be there for the start and save money on your holiday at the same time!
